We are celebrating this Independence Day edition of the newsletter with some firework announcements! We are announcing the location for Podcast Movement 2018, as well as sharing some popular events that are included with your PM17 registration in Anaheim!
Podcast Movement 2018 comes to Philadelphia
We, the Podcast Movement organizers… have been asked for some time to bring the industry leading event to the east coast. Well your requests have not fallen on deaf ears.
We figured what better way to celebrate Independence Day, than to announce that Podcast Movement 2018 is coming to the city where the Declaration of Independence was signed: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!
Philly is known as the city of brotherly love, and in 2018 it will also be known as the host city for lovers of the podcast industry and podcast creation, when Podcast Movement 2018 comes to town.
Let freedom and podcasts ring next summer in Philadelphia!

Tuesday morning and afternoon – August 22
This fun and unique podcast presentation competition is sure to kick of Podcast Movement right! A panel of judges will score each 15 minute talk, and the highest scored talk will not only take home the PMx Competition award!

Ignite is a unique speaking event where a series of speakers get on stage for five minutes each to share a Spark. A Spark is a 5 minute talk that consists of 20 slides. Each slide is on a 15 second auto advance. Ready or not, the next slide is up!

The Messengers: A Podcast Documentary is an intimate, vibrant look at the world of podcasting and what compels independent podcasters to take on the challenge of a burgeoning form.

The first evening of Podcast Movement kicks off in style! Our friends at iHeart will be bringing the music and provide the drinks, and we’ll all get together to get ready for the big awards show later this evening.

Join us for the third annual Academy of Podcasters Awards and Hall of Fame ceremony. We present what we believe to be the most prestigious awards in podcasting, as well as induct this year’s Podcast Hall of Fame class.
Thursday evening
August 24
Join us for a night of food, drinks, dancing, and maybe even some FIRE! Featuring a live band playing island music, fire dancers, hula dancing and lessons, coconut cutting demonstrations, and more!
Everyone gets a free drink ticket, light hors d’oeuvres, and all the fun you can handle!
And next week we highlight some great workshops you can sign up to be a part of!
Regardless of whether you celebrate the 4th of July or Canada Day, etc… podcasters across the world are grateful to celebrate the freedom to podcast! We encourage you to hit record today (or this week) and keep up the great work!
