Podcasting Documentary Screening
At PM16 we had our first podcast documentary screening, and it was a hit! This year we do it again with the west coast premier of The Messengers, Tuesday night before PM begins.
The Messengers: A Podcast Documentary is an intimate, vibrant look at the world of podcasting and what compels independent podcasters to take on the challenge of a burgeoning form. Produced by a team of award-winning filmmakers, The Messengers chronicles the nationwide growth of podcasting and uncovers some of the magic behind the medium, visiting some of the most influential podcasters to have them share about their shows, their communities and the impact podcasting has had on their lives.
Following this special screening, Executive Director Chris Krimitsos, Director/Editor Niel Guilarte, and A Few Surprise Guests will join us LIVE on stage for a discussion and audience Q&A.
Share a Ride, or a Room
Do you want to share a hotel room at the Marriott, or a ride from or to the airport? Please feel free to include your name on the list so that you can coordinate with fellow PM17 attendees:

Additional Speaker Announcements
Country Music Artist Alan Jackson had a hit song in 2007 whose lyrics apply perfectly to this week’s speaker announcement. Alan sings:

Feelings like this can’t be wrong
And too much of a good thing is a good thing
And we’ve got a good thing going on.”
This week we are proud to announce even more of a good thing with the following speakers, including the team from Terrible, Thanks for Asking!

It’s graduation season! Congratulations to members of the PM17 family who have or a family member that has recently graduated! And while we could not be there in person for all the ceremonies, consider this week’s newsletter a graduation gift to you and yours!
This week we are proud to announce new speakers, a few classic/new session types coming to PM, and more!
Entrepreneur Podcasters “Table for Three”
In a first-of-its-kind session at Podcast Movement, we debut the “Table for Three” format. Three podcasters with something in common share stories, lessons, what is working, what pitfalls to avoid, and a whole lot more in a “fireside chat” style session.
The first one of these we’re excited to feature is one for the business and entrepreneurial podcasters. Join John Lee Dumas, Amy Porterfield and Pat Flynn as they talk all things podcasting, as it relates to their online businesses!
Podcast Movement-Mania Runs Wild in 2017
Bruce Prichard and Conrad Thompson host the hit Something to Wrestle podcast on Court Bauer’s MLW podcast network. What is so special about them? Conrad and Bruce have turned a glorified hobby into an undeniable powerhouse in the sports podcasting genre. The framework of each episode, audience call to actions, ad-reads and polls for future episodes are unique, and something that podcasters from every niche can learn from this summer!
Whether you’re looking to learn from business podcasters, wrestling podcasters or anywhere in between, we’ve got it at Podcast Movement!
New & Unique Session Types
We are bringing the “back by popular demand” solutions stages, as well as introducing newly “requested” session types this summer in Anaheim!
Interactive Stage
The “demo stage”. This is not a standard session with a slide deck and speaker, it is an actual demonstration of the “how-to-do-it”! These speakers will send you home knowing not only what to do, but how to do it!

The sessions will give attendees the opportunity to come together in a small group of fellow podcasters, for double-length sessions, to help each other find solutions to ongoing problems, answer questions, get additional opinions on decisions regarding your podcast, and build accountability beyond the conference.
The sessions will provide time for each member of the small group to take a turn in the “hot seat”.

Get Focused with this first of its kind session at Podcast Movement
Amplifi Media and Nuvoodoo Media will join forces at Podcast Movement to present something special. Steve Goldstein (Founder/CEO Amplifi Media) and Carolyn Gilbert are putting together a focus group that will tackle how real listeners really consume podcasts.
How Consumers Really Listen to Podcasts
A first of its kind video study. Podcast listeners in their own words. Real podcast listeners talk about how they discover, choose and listen.
– Apps they use
– Where and how they listen
– How many they listen to
– Emerging listening habits
– Exclusive podcast user insights on length, turn-offs and ads, and a lot more!
Keep your eye out for this eye-opening session taking place this August.
Whether you are starting your podcast soon, or are an existing member of the Podcast Hall of Fame… we appreciate your passion and devotion to podcasting. Podcast Movement is committed to helping you share your voice in the most impactful way possible, while remaining wise with your creativity and resources. We are excited to hang out with you in Anaheim!

Until next week,
Team PM17
P.S. We strongly encourage you to consider checking out the latest episode of the Sessions podcast produced by Joel Sharpton, and featuring PM17 Keynote Speaker and host of Lore – Aaron Mahnke!
